Safety

The Exora has an equivalent 4-star EuroNCAP evaluation after 32 Exoras were crashed in the Applus+ IDIADA crash testing facility in Spain.

Moreover, the Exora was awarded a 4-star evaluation by Malaysia’s own MyVAP evaluation program.

The Exora has been given a four-star ANCAP safety evaluation, applicable to all versions. From the offset crash test, the Exora scored 10.55 from 16 points — motorist torso protection was acceptable and leg protection was marginal.

In the side impact crash test, it handled 14.82 from 16 points — motorist chest protection was recorded as acceptable.

The Exora result — with testing completed in July 2013 — revealed its performance in the 40% frontal offset test, where the danger of severe harm to the driver’s legs was large.

Side impact performance was great, but overall pedestrian evaluation results were poor, based on ANCAP.

One of the important features that made these evaluations possible is using high tensile steel for the body cage, providing better stability and increased impact absorption during a collision.

Side impact bars can also be installed to reinforce the door frames and to absorb impacts from either side.

Other security features include an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to prevent skidding in case of sudden emergency braking and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to make sure that the appropriate amount of braking power is delivered to the appropriate wheels in line with the present weight distribution of the automobile.

Two leading airbags and pre-tensioner seat belts are set up for the front passengers.

However, Exora versions sold in Australia include four airbags and Electronics Control (ESC) along with the above.

At the end of January 2015, the facelifted Exora Bold called Exora Bold MC2 in Malaysia eventually getting regular ESC, 4 airbags, reverse camera, back fog lamp, also DRL for the top version the same as the Australian version.

The Exora also comes with a Body Control Module (BCM) that allows automatic detection and configuration of various vehicle functions like door locking/unlocking, interior lamps, headlamps, brake lamps, hazard lights and wipers.

Exora (Enhanced) (2017–present)

The 2017 Proton Exora (Enhanced) was released on 23 July 2017 as the successor to the Exora Bold MC2.

The 2017 Exora introduced mainly cosmetic changes and sound, vibration, and harshness (NVH) enhancements.

The exterior design of this 2017 Exora has been upgraded to feature Proton’s new three-dimensional badge, in accord with the business’s recently launched models.

The 2017 Exora also comes with a new dual-tone paint structure, mirroring that of the 2017 Iriz.

The front grille and rear garnish strip are now painted shiny black on both 2017 Exora versions, while the Executive Plus comes with a black-painted roof, wing mirror caps, rear spoiler, and tailgate.

The two 2017 Exora versions are equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Executive version carries over silver-painted, ten-spoke metal rims in the incoming Exora Bold Premium, while the Executive Plus is fitted with upgraded two-tone metal rims from the Inspira.

The interior design of this 2017 Exora has been carried over largely unchanged over the Exora Bold MC2.

Nonetheless, the Executive Plus version was updated with the Prevé’s steering wheel design and a new floor console-mounted USB interface, as well as minor cosmetic changes to the leather upholstery and center console trim inserts.

The present CamPro 1.6L Turbo engine and CVT powertrain has also been carried over, but it now sits on a brand new three-mount configuration, designed to reduce transmissions of motor vibrations to the cottage.

The Innova is a part of Toyota’s IMV program along with the Hilux pickup truck and the Fortuner SUV.

Its official title in Indonesia is Toyota Kijang Innova, while for other countries it’s Innova.The Innova is also sold in India (substituting the Qualis), Malaysia (replacing the Unser), the Philippines (substituting the Revo), Taiwan (replacing the Zace Surf), Vietnam(replacing Zace), Jamaica and Thailand.

Unlike some of its rivals, like the TATA Sumo Grande, Chevrolet Tavera, or the Mahindra Xylo, but such as the recently launched Tata Aria, the Innova looks more like a minivan. The title “Innova” comes from the English word innovation.

Engines

The Innova is powered by either a petrol 2.0-liter 136 PS (100 kW) 1TR-FE VVT-i, a 2.7-liter (2TR-FE) version of the same, or a 2.5-liter 102 PS (75 kW) 2KD-FTV D-4D common rail liter engine.

The 2.7-liter unit is just for the V, with automatic transmission.The 2.7-liter gas engine has been dropped from the Indonesian market because of low demand.

The diesel versions use turbocharged 2KD-FTV engine that generates 102 hp (76 kW) and 260 N·m (190 lb·ft) of torque when mated to the four-speed automatic transmission and 200 N·m (150 lb·ft) when mated to the five-speed manual.

Gas models are also available in five-speed manual or four-speed automatic versions. All versions utilise the rear-wheel drive configuration. It’s available in five versions : GX, VX and ZX for 2.4- and GX and ZX for the 2.8-liter.

The car was unveiled at the Gaikindo Auto Expo in July 2003, and started in December 2003 and sold over 100,000 units annually.

The title “Avanza” was taken from the Italian term “avanzato”, which means “progress”.

Its spiritual predecessor was the Kijang, whose version program has since been divided to two unique versions (the other being the bigger, more expensive Kijang Innova) to enlarge Toyota’s reach in the MPV sector.

The Avanza has like the Kijang’s rural road-capable, rear-wheel drive, body-on-frame design. Along with Indonesia and Malaysia, the Avanza is sold in Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Middle East, Mexico, Caribbean, Egypt, and various other African states.

The Perodua Alza Attained a 4-star ASEAN NCAP rating.

In January 2014, Perodua launched the facelifted Alza in three versions; the Standard (MT & AT), SE (Special Edition, MT & AT) and Advance Edition (AT only).

The Alza received many cosmetic changes, such as a revised front grille, front bumper, rear bumper and new alloy wheels, while the Advanced version obtained a multimedia system with reverse and navigation camera.

The transmission and engine pairing remained unchanged. It was available in five colours: Ivory White, Ebony Black, Glittering Silver, Mystical Purple and Passion Red.

The Perodua Alza S replaces the Standard version. The inside includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio buttons, a sound system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity along with meter panel with white lighting.

The Perodua Alza S has a distinctive Metallic Electric Blue paint choice. Costs remained unchanged by the Perodua Alza Standard version despite the additional features.
